Back in 2017, Prof. Dr. Alfons Madeja - founder of the Bundesliga Barometer and Managing Director of SLC Management (SLC) - was the initiator of the Bundesliga Future Summit together with partners TÜV Rheinland (host partner) and Sport Bild (media partner) - Europe's highest-circulation sports magazine. The invitation was taken up by big names from the world of sport such as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Dr. Reinhard Rauball (see picture), as well as representatives from business, politics and media, to discuss forward-looking topics relating to the Bundesliga. While Professor Madeja and the SLC positioned themselves early on as trendsetters with a far-sighted view, the scenario of a global virus paralyzing the Bundesliga and the world of sports was not part of the discussion at the time.

Wegen seiner Rolle als Geschäftsführer bei der SLC Management, aufgrund seiner langjährigen Erfahrung im Sportbusiness und in der Zusammenarbeit mit Clubs und Verbänden national wie international, gilt Maximilian Madeja als Experte für Daten und Technologien und wurde deshalb im Interview zur Entscheidung der DFL befragt.
DFL stellt globale Wachstumsstrategie vor
Die DFL treibt die Internationalisierung weiter voran und entwickelt dafür eine globale Wachstumsstrategie. Die internationalen Vertriebs- und Marketing-Aktivitäten bündelt die DFL zukünftig in der "Bundesliga International GmbH". Dabei werden weitere Auslandsbüros eröffnet und ein „Legends Network“ gebildet, in dem ehemalige Bundesligastars als Markenbotschafter im Ausland agieren sollen. Die deutschen Fans befürworten diese Entwicklung.
