SLC collects data on the DFL Supercup
Since 2010, the DFL Supercup has been held under the care of the DFL. In this competition, the winner is determined in a match between the German champion and the DFB Cup winner. Should a club win the double, said club will play the runner-up. In this year's Supercup, FC Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 3:1 to win the first title of the season.
The DFL Supercup often faces accusations of being a commercial construct and having neither historical, nor sporting relevance. Partly because it is the first official title of a season in German professional soccer, the competition enjoys a certain attention among fans.
On the acceptance of the competition, the interest of the fans and the recognition of the sponsors who use the advertising space surrounding this competition, SLC Management queried and generated the relevant insights in the only representative Bundesliga panel with registered participants.
