#Instantinsights on the resumption of play from the perspective of Bundesliga fans

To date, it is still unclear when the ball will be able to roll again in the Bundesliga. The DFL plans to resume play as early as May. We asked for the opinions of the fans in Germany's only representative Bundesliga panel with registered participants from a total of 5065 fans and customers of the clubs and were able to record exciting results with high agreement rates.

74.9 percent of the fans would like the Bundesliga season to continue in May - if it is medically justifiable.

However, fans are more skeptical about a possible "barracking" to protect the players. Nevertheless, a majority of 57.6 percent of those surveyed support this measure, which is also currently being discussed in the context of the Corona crisis.

Following individual decisions made by the individual states, team training has now been resumed at the Bundesliga locations in subgroups of varying sizes. An overwhelming majority (80.5 percent) considers this regulation to be wrong. 88.7 percent of those surveyed are in favor of a nationwide, uniform regulation for the implementation of training.

Finally, the question was asked whether the Corona crisis could also represent a chance for the Bundesliga. 82.5 percent said yes and believe that the DFL and the clubs will draw the right conclusions to be better prepared for future crises. One model for this could be the creation of emergency pots or solidarity pots, which could be exhausted if necessary. 77.4 percent of those surveyed consider this to be sensible in the future.
