THE BUNDESLIGA BAROMETER 2022/23 - BORUSSIA DORTMUND IN FIRST PLACE IN GERMANY'S MOST IMPORTANT BUNDESLIGA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY

Runner-up in the league table - but champion with the fans: For the first time in 11 years, Borussia Dortmund is in first place in the Bundesliga Barometer - Germany's most important Bundesliga instrument for customer satisfaction and quality management.

The Bundesliga Barometer by SLC Management was surveyed for the 20th time under the direction of Prof. Dr. Alfons Madeja (inventor of the Bundesliga Barometer). Since 2007, SPORT BILD has published the results of the Bundesliga Barometer, the largest and oldest customer satisfaction survey among Bundesliga fans. Fans gave marks for satisfaction with their favorite club in several main categories and various individual criteria, which had previously been queried and defined in a representative survey.
With the Bundesliga Barometer, Professor Madeja was the first to give the voice of fans in the Bundesliga the importance it deserves. Since the introduction of the Bundesliga Barometer in 2003, viewer numbers have risen steadily and the Bundesliga is now the most watched league in the world. This approach provides proof that there is a correlation between customer satisfaction or quality management and viewer numbers.
The Bundesliga Barometer acts as a significant status quo analysis of customer satisfaction for Bundesliga clubs, as they can also view the scores of other clubs for guidance. It provides a valuable source of data and analysis for the clubs by showing the extent to which their own fans are satisfied with the club's service quality and infrastructure management. At the same time, it identifies areas where there is potential for optimization or need for development.
"The fans rely on a neutral assessment. The Bundesliga Barometer, as the "voice of the fans, " is the tool to evaluate clubs. If the fan experience is first-class, this helps to make economic success more independent of sporting results." (Prof. Dr. Alfons Madeja, inventor of the Bundesliga-Barometer)

Already at the beginning of the digital age, the Bundesliga Barometer was implemented as an online survey tool by SLC Managing Director Maximilian Madeja. Thus, also on the 33rd and 34th matchday of the 2022/23 season, more than 5,600 fans were surveyed online about the satisfaction and quality management of their club. Borussia Dortmund landed in first place with an overall grade of 2.03, scoring particularly well in the "club" category (grade 1.44). FC Bayern München came in second with an overall score of 2.06. The record-breaking champions collected a lot of points, especially in the "club" category (1.44). The record champion scored particularly well in the "club image" (1.54) and "stadium" (1.85) categories. The two relegated teams FC Schalke 04 (grade 2.47) and Hertha BSC (grade 2.72) came in last
