Sportplatzwelt LIVE Congress // Round-up on the SLC presentation "The perfect match plan"

Financing sports facilities, service quality in clubs, sponsorship, digitalisation and member and employee surveys - these were just some of the topics on which SLC Management was able to provide insights into everyday life as an advisor to clubs, local authorities, associations and companies at the Sportplatzwelt LIVE Congress .
On 13 May 2025 the third edition of Sportplatzwelt LIVE presented by SLC Management took place at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne. More than 300 participants from sports authorities, clubs and associations were able to use the popular sports congress to exchange valuable experiences, gather ideas and engage in lively discussions.
A colourful programme of specialist lectures, panel discussions and practice-oriented workshops awaited the participants.

As the presenting partner of Sportplatzwelt LIVE, SLC Management once again took over the opening lecture this year with the title "The perfect match plan: Data & Best Practices as Key Players for Successful Club Management". Maximilian Madeja (Managing Director SLC Management), Jens Jaschinski (Director Consultancy SLC Management) and Lea Härtel (Research Consultant Amateur and Popular Sports SLC Management) gave an overview of all the possibilities that clubs have according to Prof Dr Alfons Madeja s 3K model to create a concept with competence and thus find capital, use capital and position themselves more strongly financially overall.
From the financing of sports facilities and service quality certifications to digitalisation and sponsorship to member and employee surveys - the speakers took the congress participants on a journey through modern, fact-based club management and highlighted valuable opportunities. The content of the presentations was illustrated using best practice cases and video statements from SLC partners.
It's a Wrap: The 5 main topics of the presentations at a glance
- Data-based feasibility & needs analyses // Design is nice, numbers are better.
Before investing in projects or infrastructure projects, you should carry out a feasibility analysis. This is not about architectural feasibility, but about functional/economic feasibility, for the following purposes: help in the search for capital, planning of economic feasibility, securing refinancing and use as a functional template for the "design".
Heiko Hiller (Managing Director @Wacker Burghausen): "We want to prepare ourselves optimally for the question of "whether" and "how" with regard to an infrastructural expansion of the club into the city centre of Burghausen." - Tested service quality - popular sport // Vorsprung durch Qualität.
In a comprehensive test procedure consisting of market research (customer perspective) and mystery check (expert perspective) together with the SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS, member and customer satisfaction and quality management are tested at all customer contact points of the club - from club communication and infrastructure to sports facilities, staff and sports programmes through to club catering. The aim of this holistic evaluation of all areas of the club is to continuously improve the "member journey" and increase the club's attractiveness.
Andreas Neugebauer (CEO @Post SV Nürnberg): "As a major sports club, we are increasingly perceived as a service provider. It is therefore important to prioritise the issue of service quality in order to continue to attract and retain members in the future. What is even more important for us as a club, in addition to the certificate, are the recommendations for action, where we can still improve in various areas." - Smart Sponsoring Management SSM(c) // Know your value. Utilise your value.
Whether everyone is cooking their own soup, personnel capacities are limited or you simply don't know how much which marketing option is worth - SLC knows and understands the challenges faced by clubs and provides the appropriate solutions. From workshops and automated value calculation to target group analyses and sales coaching to the creation of concepts and sponsorship controlling - SLC's solutions are always based on the principle of "helping people to help themselves".
Jonathan Lorenz (club manager @TV Erlangen): "SLC helps me enormously in my day-to-day work. Before contract renewal meetings with sponsors, I receive a presentation from SLC - tailored to the respective partner - with controlling/market research data from our target group.
This enables me to tell the partner which measures are well received and which we should focus on in the future. So far, all sponsors have been very enthusiastic about the analyses. This has also meant that we have been able to extend all contracts and even expand one or two of them." - Workplace climate survey // Employee satisfaction: you can't do without it.
The SLC workplace climate survey is based on a structured, proven and scientifically sound process that is customised to the club or employer. Thanks to this anonymous employee survey, the employer receives a well-founded picture of the status quo as well as an honest analysis of strengths and weaknesses with important pointers for optimisation potential. The survey serves to increase employee satisfaction, identification and loyalty and serves as a basis for decision-making for the future personnel strategy.
Veit Hesse (Managing Director @MTV Munich): "We conducted an employee survey with SLC to check the status quo at our company to see how satisfied our colleagues are. The whole thing was carried out anonymously and it gave us a status quo of where we are today and where our construction sites are and SLC also helped us to categorise these construction sites. The whole thing helped us to find a basis and, based on this basis, we then decided that we would now take care of the topic of corporate culture. We have now tackled this and have since received very positive feedback that our colleagues feel they are being taken seriously." - Digitalisation & AI // Keeping track in the jungle of digitalisation
Why do you need a requirements analysis before deciding on an association software? And why is it so important to consider the "PPT" (People - Process - Technology) of digitalisation? How do you find the "right one" in the jungle of providers? SLC provides an overview of quick checks, workshops, requirements analyses and target group surveys on the topic of digitalisation.
Jonas Röhrig (club manager @SG Weinstadt): "It was important for us to see that we are not alone in facing the challenges of digitalisation. I was able to take away important tips from the digitalisation workshop on how to prioritise the next steps correctly. It's now clearer for me where we can start so that I can also drive the topic of digitalisation forward internally."
The discussion at the trade fair stand following the presentation once again showed that clubs, associations & local authorities are definitely prepared to recognise potential and seize opportunities instead of adapting to bottlenecks. The third Sportplatzwelt LIVE was therefore also a complete success.
